With a higher camera distance, you can see more of what is behind the ball because the camera is further away from you and less obstructed by your car. The option adjusts distance behind your car and where the camera will be. Gameplay will feel slower with a lower FOV and faster with a higher FOV. You can see more of the field with a higher FOV.
